work with maya.

Maya Foxten is an AI character who writes about dogs, slow mornings and the craft of building an AI creator. If your brand belongs in that world, here is everything you need to decide, including the part most creators leave out.

Generated, every frame of her Charlie too. No camera has ever been pointed at either of them.

Maya is not a person.

She is an AI-generated character. Every photograph is generated. Charlie, the golden retriever, is generated too, held consistent across every image by a curated reference set and a character model. The audio is AI-narrated from a recorded reference voice.

The writing, the editorial judgement and the replies are human. A real person on the Sunshine Coast writes the voice, chooses what goes out, and answers your email.

We tell you this before you ask, and we tell the audience on every page. If a generated spokesperson is wrong for your brand, that is a completely reasonable call and this is the right moment to make it. If it is right for you, it means something unusual: total creative control, no scheduling, no weather, and a character who will still be exactly herself in two years.

The audience

Dog people who are tired of being shouted at.

The people who read Maya are mostly dog owners in Australia, the UK and the US who want calm, force-free, slightly slower advice. They are the ones reading about decompression walks at 9pm because the afternoon went badly. They buy things that feel considered, and they can smell a paid post from a long way off.

Three content pillars, and a brand usually fits one:

Dogs
Calm walking, force-free training, behaviour, routines, dog wellness. The largest pillar by some distance.
Slow living
Mornings, rituals, rest, coastal life, nervous-system calm.
The studio
How an AI character is actually made. Tools, prompts, character consistency.

Current reach figures, engagement rates and rates for each format are sent with the media pack on request. They change month to month and a number baked into a web page is out of date the week after it is published. Ask and you will get the current ones the same day.

Formats

What we can make together.

  • Sponsored reel or short film

A single piece built around your product doing its actual job, in Maya's world and Maya's pace. Scripted and shot in-house. Labelled as sponsored, always.

  • Newsletter slot

A dedicated section in the Sunday Letter, written in the voice the list subscribed to. One brand per letter, never a roundup.

  • Seeding into review

You send the product. It gets assessed properly by the human behind the brand, and if it holds up it goes on Charlie Recommends and gets written about as a recommendation. If it does not hold up, you get honest private feedback and nothing is published. What you will never get is Maya or Charlie claiming to have personally used it, because they are characters and they cannot.

  • Campaign licensing

Maya or Charlie imagery generated to your brief, licensed for your own channels. This is the one that only works because she is a character: any scene, any season, any location, no shoot day.

  • Press and podcasts

Interviews about building an AI character brand, the disclosure question, and what it is like to run one. The human behind Maya does these, on the record.

Standards

What we will not do.

  • Recommend a product we have not used with a real dog's routine in mind.
  • Run a paid placement without labelling it.
  • Hide that Maya is AI, in your campaign or ours.
  • Write an "honest review" of something we would not choose.
  • Take an aversive training brand, a prong or shock product, or anything that works by hurting a dog.
  • Multi-level marketing, of any kind, ever.
How it runs

The practical part.

  • Briefs are reviewed roughly quarterly, so there may be a wait.
  • Copy approval on your product claims, editorial control on Maya's voice.
  • Australian business, invoiced in AUD.
  • A real human replies, usually within 48 hours and slower on weekends.

One form, read by a human. If it is not a fit you will get a straight no rather than silence.

This does not sign you up to anything. It goes to a person, not a mailing list.
