Delete your data.
Two ways to do it, and no reason needed for either.
Last updated: 20 August 2026
The short version.
If you have messaged or commented on our Instagram or Facebook accounts, we hold that message and your public username so we can answer you. You can have all of it deleted at any time, without giving a reason. Ask us and it goes. Removing our app from your Instagram settings starts it too.
What we hold.
If you sent a direct message or left a comment: the text you sent, when you sent it, your public username and profile picture, and any reply we wrote back. That is what lets a real person read your message and answer it properly instead of losing it.
We do not hold your email, your phone number, your location, or anything from your Instagram account beyond what is public and what you sent us.
Option one: ask us. This is the thorough one.
Use the contact form and say you want your data deleted. Include the username you messaged us from, so we can find the right conversation. You do not need to explain why.
We delete it within 30 days and usually the same day. You will get a note back confirming it is done. Ask this way and everything goes, including older messages.
Option two: remove the app.
On Instagram, open Settings and activity, then Website permissions, then Apps and websites. Find Social Media Factory and remove it.
Instagram tells us the moment you do, and our system deletes what it can match to you automatically. Some older messages reached us before we recorded the identifier Instagram sends with a deletion request, so those need a person to find them. Our system flags any request it could not complete on its own, and we finish it by hand. If you want the certainty, use the contact form as well.
What deletion removes.
Every message and comment we hold from you, your username and profile picture, and any internal note attached to your conversation. All of it, not an archive copy.
The one thing we cannot delete for you.
The conversation as it sits in your own Instagram or Facebook app belongs to Meta, not to us, so we have no way to reach into it. If you want that gone too, delete the conversation on your side. Doing both leaves nothing anywhere.
Checking a deletion happened.
When a deletion runs automatically, our system records a confirmation code and a status page for that request, which Instagram passes back to you. Keep it if you want proof. If you asked us directly instead, our reply is your record.
The rest of your rights.
Deletion is one of several things you can ask for. Seeing what we hold, correcting it, or exporting it are all covered in the privacy policy, and the same contact form reaches us for any of them.
